Just a Dog
Just A Dog

I lost my dog.
It grieves my heart
And makes me very sad.
The tears fall freely down my face
For the furry friend I had.

They say that pictures are worth a thousand words, and in many ways I think that’s true. In my last post I had pictures of Toby that were taken from 2005 through 2009. You could see he was full of vim and vigor then, with running and jumping all the time.
He never lost his passion for carrying sticks or getting into water And he often made us laugh, which is a very precious commodity indeed. For instance, his penchant for trying to bark at the wheels moving on a hand truck while still holding a stick in his mouth always struck us as funny.
It’s been hard getting used to doing things without Toby. He was such a big part of life here on the farm.
He followed us around everywhere, was very protective of me, and thought The Farmer was his best buddy.
I’ve been looking through old pictures I took through the years of our farm collie, Toby.
They’re all I have left now since we lost him last Friday.
They’re not nearly enough. 🙁
This past weekend The Farmer was out doing chores. Whenever he stops to rest, he gets company. Usually it’s our farm collie, Toby, bugging him for a pet. Lately, however, the neighbor’s dog has gotten in on the act.
