Happy Birthday Farmer!
Today is The Farmer’s birthday, so to celebrate the fact, here are some pictures from the past year. I put them in chronological order, so let’s start with one from January 2013.
It’s kind of bittersweet, because it shows our now deceased pet parrot keeping The Farmer company while he writes checks. (Maybe she was lending him moral support, ha!)
It’s been a hard year for pets, and here’s yet another bittersweet picture, this time of our cat, Spot.
Spot was one really cool cat. He was a good mouser, he loved his people, and he used to follow us around like a dog. In fact, we used to call him “our other dog.” Maybe it’s because The Farmer named him “Spot” in the first place.
Of course, The Farmer’s closest bud and constant companion is our farm collie, Toby.
Toby loves to play in the water, and goes nuts everytime someone picks up a water hose!
Out with the Old, In with the New
In early August The Farmer had a fender bender. Fortunately, neither he or anyone else was hurt. Couldn’t say the same for the car, however.
It was declared a total loss, so that meant we needed to get a new-to-us vehicle. The Farmer decided to just go all out and get a new vehicle, period!
He loves this car! And he discovered he loved the bluegrass channel on the Sirius Radio! So since his 3-month trial period just ran out, I got him another year’s subscription for his birthday.
Getting Ready for a New Dog
Later in August, The Farmer helped me get ready for the new dog. Young Son and I did most of the work getting the kennel ready, but The Farmer installed the 5-foot tall gate.
Then he helped introduce the new pup to his bud, Toby.
And while we’re on the subject, the above picture was taken September 2nd. Here’s a couple of her taken recently, about 2 1/2 months later. . .
As you can see, she’s grown a lot in since she got here! At her 4-month vet check, she weighed 40-pounds. I’m sure she weighs more than that already.
The Farmer’s Pet Project
And lastly, we have the turkey, uh, excuse me, THE FARMER, with his pet turkeys!
As you can see, The Farmer has had a busy, eventful year.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY FARMER!!
