Maremma Sheepdog Puppies are 6 Weeks Old!
Oh wow! The little pups aren’t quite so little anymore! Just check them out. . .

Aren’t these cute? Looks like Kerstin must have just freshened up their color bindis, as they show up nice and bright! One of the boys is the guy on the left (looking at the picture), and the other one has a green dot (second from the right). The rest are all girls.
Look at those sweet little faces!

It sure is going to be difficult to choose one little girl out of four. I know all little pups are cute, but I think these rate really high on the cute-o-meter scale!
I think this next picture Kerstin took is worthy of a postcard.

The way they are all lined up with such happy looking doggy-faces is a hoot! Four little white fluff-balls with black noses and pink tongues hanging out. Gotta love it!
Come On Down, You’re The Next Contestant on
‘Which Pup Is Right?’!
The question is, which of those happy little faces belongs here on our farm?
Is Contestant #1, with a pink bindi on her forehead?

She looks rather solemn in that picture, doesn’t she?
Or perhaps it is contestant #2, with the orange blaze on her forehead!

It could be Miss Purple Bindi shown in the second picture down from the top of the post, or even the little girl with the red dot! Choices, choices!
I’m sure that all of them will be great Livestock Guardian Dogs. Their breed has been doing that job for a very long time. But there are personality differences even within a breed, and some dogs will do well on a smaller farm like ours, while other will be more rambunctious and need more space to roam.
Our last Maremma, Neffie, was shy to the extreme and happy to stick close to home. It will be interesting to see what our next dog is like!
Now if I could just think of a good name.
