Maremma Sheepdog Puppies are 3 Weeks Old!
Let’s talk about puppies! I got some pictures yesterday of the Maremma Sheepdog puppies. Man, are they growing FAST!!!
Of course, the reason why is they do a lot of this. . . Chowing down!
Looks like mama has a job keeping the tummies full of that crew. Just look at those plump little rascals. Kerstin, the nice lady at Confidence Farm that owns them, says you can almost SEE them growing. I believe it!
Polar Bear, the mama, is such a great looking Maremma. I will be thrilled if the puppy I get looks like her. She is a lovely Livestock Guardian Dog.
More Maremma Puppy Pics!
Look at what sturdy looking little pups they are. . .
Right now the little ones are stocky little dudes and dudettes, but those legs will lengthen out, and one day they are going to be some fine looking dogs! But for now… they’re just downright cute.
The Farmer rolls his eyes whenever I show him the latest baby pictures, and makes comments like, “How many more weeks are we going to do this?”
Just 5 more.
And if he thinks it’s bad now, wait until I have one of those little dollbabies in my possession, ha, ha!!
Such sweet little faces!
If you like dogs at all, it’s hard to resist those cute little puppy dog faces!
And you may not have noticed from the last pics I had, but their noses were pink when they were born, and they’ve turned black now. And of course, they’ve got their eyes open now as well.
Since Maremma Sheepdogs are a working breed and need to bond with their critter charges, my little girl won’t be spending time in the house as much as I’d love to baby her. She’ll get a comfy abode outside in the sheep shed, however, surrounded by a sampling of the animals here on the farm.
And she will be much visited! I’ve got to be her mentor and help her learn her job, so we will spend a lot of time together.
Gee, I think I can probably live with that.
