Horse Drawn Buggy Ride

July 1, 2010

Our friend, Angie, sent me this picture, and I liked it so much I wanted to share it.

horse and buggy

Doesn't that look like fun?

That’s her Quarter Horse, Duke, running along beside the horse and buggy. There’s a fence between them, but you can barely see it.

Her neighbor, Mr. B, is the one driving the buggy.  He gets out and about now and then for a joy ride.

Mr. B still owns his “old home place” in Alabama and keeps his horses there.

But he doesn’t just take the horse and buggy out once in a while.  Every day he’s out in his red pick-up truck making slop deliveries.

Yes, you read that right.  Evidently, he gets the slop in big buckets from restaurants in town, then takes it into the country and delivers it to friends with pigs.

So he’s out on the road daily, putzing along at about 30mph in his red pick-up truck making slop deliveries for hungry pigs.

I just love rural living!
